Installation Instructions

Choose Run or Save (Run is quickest and easiest).

A. Installing the DealXL Program

Click OK when Setup is complete

B. Linking DealXL to Excel

1. When Installation is complete, open Excel in the normal way.
2. Use Tools|Addins in Excel. Browse to select the location of the DealXL Program (usually c:\dealxl). Select the file DEALXL.XLA.
   
   
3. Don't click 'OK', but click 'Browse' again to add-in "Button.dll" from the DealXL folder. This file will not show up in the add-ins, so either type it explicitly in the File Name box:
   
   
   OR
   find it by setting to show 'Files of Type' to 'All Files (*.*)'
   
   

C. Registering DealXL

The Registration Dialog will appear as soon as the Add-in Menu is closed. Please register by calling Dealing Systems Limited on the number shown. You will be asked to provide the current Registration Code, and will be provided with a new Code to activate DealXL for a period of time

Note when entering the new Code:

• 0 and "O" are interchangeable
• Spaces will be made automaticall y
• Caps will be created automatically
• Allowed numbers are 0-9
• Allowed letters are A-F only (so if you think you hear "S", it's "F")
• Our support people may use the Phonetic Alphabet to assist you with letters. These are A= 'Alpha', B= 'Bravo', C='Charlie', D='Delta' and E='Echo'

1. Once registered, a Calcs Menu will appear in the Excel Menu Bar.
   
   

D. Install the Data Adaptor

1. Choose the appropriate Data Adaptor from the menu on the left, or go to Data Adaptors main page to select the appropriate Data Adaptor. An explanation of the Data Adaptors is provided here
2. Run the downloaded file which, by default, will extract a file, DSL_DA.exe to c:\dealxl\sheets
3. Open the file DSL_DA.xls to verify that you have a satisfactory link to your data provider. This can be done visually by checking that data is being received. The sheet can then be minimised.

E. Installing the Application Sheets to be used with DealXL

1. Download the appropriate Sheets to be used with DealXL from here
2. The files will, by default, extract themselves to the folder 'Sheets'
3. Open any of the files to confirm correct operation. Enable Updates if asked. You may have some or all of these files:
   
   CCC.XLA (click the large Calculate button to see data coming through)
   Fra Pricing from Futures.xls
   Forwards from Futures.xls
   Grid.xls
